About
A small team that builds software the way it should have been built the first time.
MIO Labs is a custom software company based in Orlando, Florida. We design and build the systems that Central Florida businesses run on, and we do it with a small senior team rather than a layer of account managers.
We are new as a company and direct about it. What we are not new at is the work: our founding team has spent more than twenty years building, securing and operating software in production.
Instead of testimonials
What you can verify before you hire us.
We will not show you logos we have not earned or numbers we cannot source. Here is what you can actually check.
A product you can look at
VoicePos is our own Clover app for restaurants, in development against the Clover sandbox. The screenshots on its page are real, and it shows exactly how we integrate with a platform we do not control.

Our founding team comes from cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure, not from a design agency that added development. That background decides how we build, not how we market.
A process with named deliverables
Six stages, each with an artifact you keep and a timeline you can hold us to. You can read the whole thing before you talk to us.
Read the processCommitments in writing
Fixed price on the first phase, your ownership of the code and the repository from day one, and the discovery document is yours whether or not you continue.
How we are different
Security is a design requirement, not a final checklist.
Most software shops treat security as something you audit at the end, which is why so many small business systems have a single shared login and a database anyone on the team can read.
We come from cybersecurity. Access control, encryption, audit logging and least privilege are decided in the first week, with the data model, because that is the only point at which they are cheap.
For a small business this is not a compliance abstraction. It is the difference between a bad afternoon and an incident that reaches your customers, your insurer and the local press.
Who you will work with
You talk to the people who build it.
MIO Labs is three partners and no account managers. The person in your discovery meeting is the person who writes the architecture, and you will know all three by name before the first phase is priced.
Architecture and security
Designs the system and owns its security posture from the first week: access control, encryption, audit logging. Twenty years in software, cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure.
Product and delivery
Runs discovery and scope. Spends the first week with the people who live with the problem, writes the brief the build is priced from, and keeps the project honest about it.
Engineering
Builds and maintains what we deliver, from the data model to the release pipeline, and owns the handover documentation you keep when the project ends.
- A direct line to the partner responsible for your project, not a ticket queue.
- Working software every two weeks, reviewed with you on a real environment.
- On-site in Central Florida for discovery, training and launch; remote for everything else.
Our commitments
What we commit to in writing.
Pending final confirmation before launch. These are the terms we intend to put in every contract.
Fixed price on the first phase
After discovery, you get a fixed price for the first build phase. If we estimated badly, that is our problem, not a change order.
You own the code from day one
The repository lives in your organization and the infrastructure in your accounts. There is no version of this where your software is held in ours.
The discovery document is yours
If you decide not to continue after discovery, you keep the brief, the scope and the estimates. You paid for the thinking; you take it with you.
30 days of post-launch support
A month of support after go-live is included in every build, because the real bugs surface when real people start using the system.
Where we work
Orlando, and wherever the work is.
We are based in Orlando and work on-site across Central Florida, including Kissimmee, Winter Park, Lake Mary and Sanford. On-site time is reserved for what benefits from being in the room: discovery, training and launch.
Everything else is remote, and we deliver remotely for clients in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. We work in your time zone, and we answer within one business day.

The fastest way to find out is a short conversation about the problem. We will tell you if it is not something we should be building.
